The Orlando Magic recently hired Jamahl Mosley as their new head coach, and until the games actually start again next season it is hard not to feel optimistic about what he can bring to a rebuilding organization. The kind that only a first-time head coach who says all of the right things can bring.

Mosley is a coach who has plenty of experience with superstars like Dirk Nowitzki and Luka Doncic while an assistant with the Dallas Mavericks, although there is no doubt that hiring him still represents a calculated gamble. Crucially though, it also gives every player on the roster a blank slate with which to start over.

The Orlando Magic have a new head coach in Jamahl Mosley, and this change at the top could be extremely beneficial to three players in particular.

In the case of some players, such as the pair of incoming top 10 picks in this month’s NBA Draft, that doesn’t matter. Those guys won’t have any perceptions about them as a result of what they’ve already shown in a Magic jersey. They are in a good position and will be given every chance to succeed.

For other players though, this change may not necessarily be a good thing. Michael Carter-Williams for example was a firm favorite of departed head coach Steve Clifford, and there is no doubt he got the best out of a player that has struggled at other stops in his career.

The other side of the coin is far more promising, however, and there are a number of individuals for whom this change in coach couldn’t have come quick enough. The following three players could all stand to benefit in a big way, but each in vastly different ways as the Magic look to build an exciting core for the figure.
